How you can help

Welcome to Cats Protection.

We are Cats Protection's most northerly branch. Since the branch was formed, in 1985, our small group of dedicated volunteers has been caring for Shetland's cats and kittens. We aim to rescue and rehome cats, raise awareness of the importance of neutering and inform the public on the welfare of cats and kittens. You can learn more about Cats Protection by visiting the What We Do page, or just browse the site to learn more about our work and activities.

Willow and Briar are ready for a new home!, See more cats on our Adopt a Cat page.

If you use Amazon UK, you can  generate money for the Branch by using this link -  whenever you  use the link below to go there, it generates revenue from Amazon. Store the link in your bookmarks and help cats without even thinking about it!

At the moment we are very short of people willing and able to do "home visits" before a cat is rehomed. This is frustrating for prospective new owners, not to mention the cats! If you think you could help with this important work, please contact us.

Another way you could help is by being willing to have neutered feral cats living on your land. Ferals fend for themselves, and help keep rodents down, so if you have croft land that could support them, please get in touch.

The Branch has a Facebook page here

We hope you enjoy visiting our website, which was last updated on 14 January - four long-term residents rehomed!
